Awards, Interviews, and Release Updates

Moonshot-still_07

Here are some updates on all things Moonshot:

Post Production
The movie is days away from being complete. We have an almost-finished screener which we have used for some test screenings and for festival submissions which are currently underway.

Awards
Moonshot was recognized twice at the 2016 American Visions Awards hosted by American University! We won in the categories of Outstanding Thesis Production and Best Cinematography.

Interview
I was recently interviewed by the folks over at Stereo Champions about the film, shooting in the Dupont Underground, and working with the Museum of Science Fiction. You can read the interview here.

Release
Lots of people have been asking when they can see the film, and we’re doing our best to make sure that happens as soon as possible. We’re currently seeking a public premiere sometime in the next few months, and as soon as we get that offer we will let you know! It won’t be publicly available online anytime soon, however, due to the nature of our festival strategy. Until we have news on that front, I invite you to watch and re-watch the trailer below to see if you can spot all the references to the original trilogy!*

*there is not, nor will there ever be, an original Moonshot trilogy.

Music Video
Just for shits, we recently shot a music video for the Moonshot theme song. There was a lot of hair, big shoulder pads, and tight pants. We’ll release it in mid June.

Escape Velocity and the Moonshot Video Game
Last but certainly not least — if you’re in the DC area and you’re interested in all things science fiction, come play with us at Escape Velocity in the National Harbor July 1-3. It’s sort of like Comic Con but way cooler because we’ll be releasing the Moonshot mobile game at the convention! The whole cast including Luvia Petersen will be on hand, and there may even be a fight demo by our very own Jake Guinn. Check out the link above, or email me if you have questions about the event: matthew.lucas@museumofsciencefiction.org

Thanks for following, and stay tuned for more updates!
